  1. Future of Caucus

It was agreed unanimously that the Caucus had a future. There followed a debate on size, membership and purpose of the Caucus. Parking

  1. Geography.

WL expressed concern that not only did some community councils not attend the meeting or send apologies but also did not reply to e-mails. It was agreed after discussion that all community councils within Bute & Cowal should have the opportunity to remain part of the Caucus or opt out.

Action: WL to send an e-mail to all community councils offering continued membership or opting out of the Caucus.

  1. Purpose

It was felt that the Caucus had a purpose in that a stronger voice which was inclusive of a number of community councils would have great impact. This was highlighted by The Boundary Commission proposals, Integration of Health & Social Care, Service Choices and Audit Scotland. The Caucus was also recognised as a partner by Bute & Cowal Community Planning Group (CPG), Integration of Health & Social Care and the Transport Forum.

  1. Frequency of Meeting

Initially, quarterly soon after the draft agenda for the CPG is published. This is because the Caucus has an agenda item to report at the meeting on activities and/or issues. There is the option of varying the start times and location.

  1. AOCB
  1. Caucus to ask why Dunoon/Gourock ferry route was excluded from RET
  2. Fairer Scotland document to be circulated.
