Flood Warnings
Potential For Coastal Flooding
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) report that the Dumfries & Galloway, Ayrshire & Arran (Solway Firth and Firth of Clyde), Argyll and Bute areas have a high risk of coastal flooding, particularly around lunchtime on Friday 7th December.
Heavy rain and windy conditions are expected to cause tide levels to rise and increase the chance of spray and wave-overtopping in exposed locations.
SEPA are advising that you take steps to prepare including:
Plan ahead and take action to reduce your personal flood risk.
If you have to travel, give yourself extra time and plan for alternative routes as travel disruptions are likely.
Keep an eye on SEPA’s website http://www.sepa.org.uk or phone Floodline on 0345 988 1188 for the latest flooding information. If you haven’t done so already, take advantage of SEPA’s free messaging service and sign up to Floodline for advance notice of flooding in your area.
